SAILING FROM REYKJAVIK TO CAMBRIDGE BAY
Impersonate famous explorers as we attempt to cross the Northwest Passage.
The epic 19-day expedition cruise from Reykjavík, Iceland along Greenland's southern coast and through the Northwest Passage to Cambridge Bay
Follow the legendary route with us!
Following a legendary route From Reykjavík we sail to Greenland, and get to experience the Ilulissat ice fjord, which is a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will then attempt to navigate the ice-filled channels of the Northwest Passage to Cambridge Bay, like the great polar heroes before us. We will explore the famous anchorages of Prince Christian Sound, Baffin Bay and Davis Strait, all the way to Cambridge Bay, before finishing in lively Montréal. Extraordinary landscape and wildlife A highlight of the cruise is the extraordinary beauty of the landscapes we travel through and the wildlife they support. You will look for arctic animals and birdlife in their natural habitat, such as polar bears, musk ox, caribou, ringed seals and perhaps minke and humpback whales in the sea. And don't forget to keep an eye out for birds such as Arctic gulls and teals.
SAFETY CONSIDERATION:
The trip includes several landings during the entire trip, where some treks (ranging in length from 500m to 5 km) can be carried out with relatively manageable gradients. We may encounter ice, snow, mud or something else. Temperatures may vary by several degrees between 1 ° C and 12 ° C. You are therefore advised to dress appropriately.
The program is subject to change based on weather and ice conditions.
